Danny Cordon’s Haley House Bakery Café is a neighborhood bakery in Boston's low-income Roxbury neighborhood. While bringing fresh, locally grown produce, organic coffee, and homemade baked goods and sandwiches to his customers, he is also supporting the health of the neighborhoods from which they come.
Danny took Interise’s StreetWise ‘MBA’™ (SWMBA) in 2011 and since then, his wholesale production has increased by over 25% and he’s hired numerous new staff from the community.
“The SWMBA proved to be able to help, guide, and empower us as a small business operation and a non-profit struggling to expand and meet the community’s need for healthy food,” he said. “Our ability to create sustainable revenue has also allowed us to expand and underwrite our training program which serves men and women coming out of prison.”
Danny epitomizes the spirit of Interise – “Together, we rise.”
