According to the World Health Organization (WHO, 2012) Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in both developed and undeveloped countries with an estimated 458,000 deaths each year. Of those deaths, approximately 269,000 occur in middle to lower income countries due to the lack of early screening and treatment availability. In response to this need, and with the help of generous donors like you, Caríbe Breast Cancer Care was formed in 2012. Through this, Island Impact and the International Breast Cancer Team of Southampton, N.Y. have been able to successfully provide both preventative breast cancer care as well as quality surgical treatment to those in need on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. We ask you to help us continue providing these essential services by making as small or as large a donation as you can. *Island Impact Ministries is a U.S. registered, 501(c) non-profit organization established in 2003 and dedicated to providing much-needed medical, educational, spiritual, and construction assistance to the people of the Dominican Republic and Haiti. These goals are accomplished through our local medical clinics, funding schools and orphanages, and hosting visiting teams. Medical teams provide mobile clinics in remote locations, offer free surgeries, vital medicines and supplies to people who need it most. Construction teams focus on projects to improve and repair schools, clinics, hospitals and orphanages.
