BENEFITING: International Rescue Committee
I believe everyone deserves the chance for a happy ending, but all around our planet, people are in danger and suffering. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is doing much-needed work throughout the world to provide emergency and ongoing medical care, education, counseling, career training and other services to people suffering due to conflict or natural disaster. As I write this, IRC is providing medical care for victims of chemical weapon attacks in Syria, aiding those suffering from the famine in East Africa, and helping to resettle refugees from many countries.
For the week of April 17 through April 24, my Regency romance, Lord Langdon's Kiss, will be on sale in ebook form for 99 cents. Nell, the heroine is a clergyman’s daughter who scolds Lord Langdon, recently returned from war against Napoleon’s forces in Spain, for neglecting his responsibilities to the families on his estates. The truth is that he cares about people in need as much as she does, and they fall in love as they learn to work together. I’ll donate all my proceeds from sales of Lord Langdon's Kiss (ebook and paperback) for this week to the International Rescue Committee.
Whether or not you buy the book, I encourage you to contribute directly to support the vitally important work IRC is doing.
Please consider this teaching from Jesus, which speaks to me as much as it would my characters: “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” (Matthew 2:40)
