Hello my name is Noah Wong and I just turned 13. This year I am fundraising for International Bridges to Justice (IBJ). My desire to help these misjudged kids that were my age from a terrible fate started when I went to Cambodia with my mom, and we visited a prison and met the prisoners. I met a really cool kid who had to live in the prison and suffer with the adults just because that's where he was born. He wasn't allowed to leave even though he had not done anything wrong.
I thought it was really unfair. I have met a lot of kids and other people in prison in Cambodia and India, and I have heard a lot about them from my mom. Then I watched this video called Burundi-- Boys Behind Bars, and it made me really sad just to see all the kids in prison and to know that they are not even the age to be in prison. A lot of them hadn't committed bad crimes... one kid was in jail for sleeping on a mat he found in the garbage.
That's why I keep fundraising, I believe that if I join forces with other kids and adults too, we can actually make a difference. Watch this video to find out more.
This year I have a more ambitious goal: $13,000 USD this year! That’s why I need help from you!
A small donation of $125 USD can save a child like me from spending the rest of their lives in prison for small things, like sleeping on a couch in a garage dump. It could even save a child that is completely innocent. Please consider donating to my cause for my birthday! You could even donate just a small amount, and it would count just as much to the people you are helping as a big donation. Thank you for reading.
