BENEFITING: THE CIR POLICY AND EDUCATION INITIATIVE
On behalf of 91 resident physicians caring for our communities’ most medically-vulnerable children at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland, we are asking for donations for our "Patient Care Fund". We need to focus on the care of the kids, not fundraising.
We are passionate frontline providers who work as many as 80 hours a week, often pulling 24 hour shifts, to care for the children of the East Bay’s low-wage workforce. We engage in advocacy and community service inside and outside the hospital, even raising money – and paying out of pocket – for the hospital’s patient care fund to close the gap between what insurance covers and what a family can afford.
These funds go directly to prescription costs for low income children who are discharged from the hospital and much needed machines that help to eliminate painful tests.
(All of the funds from this fundraiser will be given directly to the Patient Care Fund by the CIR POLICY AND EDUCATION INITIATIVE)
