BENEFITING: IPBYS OUTREACH INC
EVENT DATE: Sep 27, 2015
On Sept. 27, the IPBYS Outreach Program will have a kirtan program at Snake River Correctional Facility in Ontario, Oregon!
Originating in India and at the root of the Gaudiya Vaisnava tradition, kirtan is the joyful and sacred experience of collectively singing the names of the god and goddess of love, Krishna and Radha. Also known as "mantra meditation", kirtan frees the mind and cleanses the heart, inspiring deep contemplation and aiding us on the journey towards transcendental love of God.
A couple of us have visited 8 inmates in this facility and they are feeling dramatic changes in their lives having come in contact with Vedic literature from India and chanting. We are so grateful to have this opportunity to bring kirtan to their facility and with such devotional kirtan singers as The Kirtaniyas and a few others.
Any donation is appreciated to help our trip expenses and to bring in some literature to distribute there. Thank you. Donations can also be a tax-write off.

With much gratitude,
