Iraqi Crisis 2016 Relief
Organized by: Removed Removed
I am an Iraqi-Canadian based in Montreal, and have unfortunately witnessed, as most Iraqis have, the loss of friends and family due to terrorist attacks and activity occurring in Iraq over the years.
In light of the recent terrifying events, I desperately searched for a reliable charity or fundraising relief. To my shock, I have found none pertaining the Iraqi 2016 crisis that took place just a few days ago. This is ISIS's most deadly attack in weeks.
Some popular charities that are run in Iraq are unfortunately corrupt, and are not a reliable source to give money to and I worry that any amount I can raise, will not reach the families and children in need. Hence why I've created this fundraiser myself.
A bit of background:
The bombing that occurred early Sunday, July 3rd 2016 in a busy shopping district (Karrada), was the deadliest single attack in Iraq's war-weary capital in years. As of Monday evening, the death toll stood at 215, making it the single deadliest attack since 2003.
The attack took place at the time when families were out in the streets after breaking their daylight fast for the holy month of Ramadan, which ends this week. Many of the dead were children, according to witnesses, and officials warned the death toll would likely rise as more bodies could be lying under the rubble of collapsed buildings. ISIS quickly claimed responsibility for the Karrada attack, saying it was an effort to target Shiite Muslims.
100% of the proceeds donated will be sure to reach the victims injured and families affected by the loss of their income supporters via Thaira Abdul Hussein Al-Kaflawi – Founder of Social Responsibility Corporation and Sustainable Development Center In Iraq.
I thank you for your generosity and donations, it means the world to me, and to the families who are affected by this attack.
