BENEFITING: International Rescue Committee
ORGANIZER: International Rescue Committee
EVENT: Aleppo Relief Fund
As I tuck my son into his warm bed, cuddled up in his kiki (blanket) and snuggled into a pile of stuffed animals, I can't help but be overwhelmed by how blessed we are.
But not everyone is this lucky. Today, in Syria, a child will go to sleep without his basic human needs met, mourning the loss of a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, brother or sister. Over five million child refugees need food, clothing, care and protection as a result of the ongoing war. Inside Syria 250,000 children are estimated to be living in besieged areas deprived of food, clean water, and basic medical care. And children are not the only ones who are suffering.
That is why I have decided to launch a fundraiser to help raise funds for the worn torn areas of Syria and to help give a child a warm bed, and a little piece of security that they are so desperately lacking.
From now until December 31st, the proceeds from every single Art in the Raine (www.facebook.com/artintheraine) I sell will be going to the International Rescue Committee(www.rescue.org), an organization committed to helping displaced Syrians with the help they need most.
To participate is simple. Simply send me a private message with what you would like to purchase and then once confirmed donate to this page. This will ensure that all funds go where they are needed most. If there isn't something currently available that you are interested in, I would love to create something custom for you. If you do not need a painting and you simply want to donate, I encourage you to do that as well.
Together we can make a difference!
