THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING US!!!
September 22, 2016
BENEFITING: International Rescue Committee
ORGANIZER: International Rescue Committee
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
About us: Neetu & Corey are running their very first-ever marathon and depending on the day, are some combination of excited, nervous, inspired, and terrified. Nervous because it's 26.2 miles across New York city's paved streets, across it's higher than it looks bridges, and there will be hills of course. They are inspired by having received so much support and encouragement from friends and family, and are excited to be getting back into shape. And of course, they are terrified, because well, all of the above.
About our charity: More than 80 years after Albert Einstein helped create the International Rescue Committee, the number and intensity of humanitarian crises across the globe warrant a dose of Einstein-inspired innovation. The IRC responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their future. Thanks to the generosity of IRC supporters, more than 23 million people benefited from IRC programs and those of our partner organizations in 2015—nearly 5.5 million more individuals than we were able to reach in 2014. Find out more about the IRC @rescue.org or follow @theIRC.
Neetu has worked for the IRC for over 5 years and loves her work, colleagues, the organization's mission to help those most directly impacted by our calamitous world. She has run three half marathons and Corey has run two. Both never imagined running another 13 miles right after running the first 13, but here we go!
Join Corey and Neetu in their ambition to cross that finish line on November 6th, 2016. Our struggle to do so pails in comparison to what those displaced by conflict or natural disaster face as they attempt to bring their families from a place of harm to a place that they can call home.
Help us by donating $10, $20, $50, $100 - whatever you can to support Neetu and Corey as they run to improve the lives of victims of wars and natural disasters, while improving their own lives through running.
