The wonderful life of Iris!
March 28, 2016
Iris is an amazing woman. Enough cannot be said about her love and efforts while taking in abused, lost, abandoned, and starved dogs. There seem to be far too many in Puerto Rico. You might think Puerto Rico could be a great place to live on the streets, but this is sadly not the case for these lonely dogs. A lot of them are extremely malnourished, injured, and in desperate need of medical care.
Iris opens her heart and home to these wonderful dogs. She spends many hours throughout each day giving affection and medical attention to each as they all have their own specific needs. A lot of them turn a complete 180 during the time they are taken under her wings- from a sad injured dog to the jumping, smiling, barking, tail wagging dog we all LOVE to see! She tries as hard as she can to find them their permanent homes, but sometimes her place is it.
The other sad part of this story is that there are far too many of these dogs for Iris to take in, let alone pay for. Many need expensive medical attention while all need food and water. I adopted my wonderful poochie named Sherif John Brown about 2 months ago. Adopting is the best thing I think anyone could do to help, but it's understandable many of us don't have the room or time for another dog (I wish I could squeeze another one in at my house :). If you could please offer anything to help out this wonderful woman, I assure you, your donations are very well spent and appreciated!!! I will try and do as much as I can, but hopefully by making this page, we can all make a much larger donation! Much love and happiness here for everyone especially to these poochies in need!
