BENEFITING: ALS Association Greater New York Chapter
For those of you that do not know, I took up the sport of triathlon 3 years ago. At first, it was a physical goal I set for myself to push my boundaries and compete in 3 sports successively: swimming, biking, and running. With all the long hard training hours and balancing life, I’ve learned to appreciate and enjoy life as it comes. With that said, a little over a two years ago my best friend John Romagosa told me that his mom had been diagnosed with ALS. Unfortunately, this terrible disease is taking a toll on her and is now affecting her quality of life. I want to do something that could make a difference for her and anyone that might go through the same hardships. The best way I can to do this is by raising money for research to treat and cure ALS. Attached are links that provide information on the disease as well as the foundation of John’s choice.
In Jul 2017, I’ll be competing in my first Iron Man triathlon in Lake Placid (NY) and I wanted to dedicate the race to Mrs. Romagosa and ALS awareness. I do not like asking people to donate money for causes, but due to the personal nature, I’d appreciate if anyone is willing or able to donate. My goal is to raise $2,500 (hopefully more) and every little bit helps. Whether it’s $5 or more, it all adds up. For anyone employed with AllianceBernstein, I’ve included the link for the matching gift program and if you need any help, please feel free to reach out to me. For anyone outside the organization, most companies have a similar matching program. Thank you all for your help in advance and hope to see you out on the course in Lake Placid!
