BENEFITING: MONMOUTH NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING INC
EVENT DATE: Jul 15, 2015
At Manna House, we incorporate culinary arts into our Life Skills. Iron Chef is a cooking competition that tests the women's skills! The women in our program are separated into teams and assigned a coach. They then spend weeks planning their menu, decorations, and cooking before bringing their food before judges who will decide who is the next Manna House Iron Chef. The winner receives a basket filled with kitchen goods and gift cards! This fundraiser is to raise funds to provide the women so that they do not have to purchase the food for the competition out of their very small weekly budget. We want it to be fun and an educational experience, without providing a hardship for the women and her child(ren).
Please consider making this upcoming competition as enjoyable and rewarding for the women at Manna House as possible!
What does Manna House do and who are they?
Manna House is a 501(c)3 transitional housing program that serves women and children in Monmouth County to help them successfully transition from homelessness and dependence on county welfare assistance to their own apartment and full time employment. We serve up to ten woman at a time, and their children, for a duration of twelve months. Our program provides many benefits including safe housing, on-site case management for each woman, job training, furthering education, and life skills. Upon successful graduation from the Manna House program, the women are afforded a rental housing benefit by the county for another year.
