BENEFITING: National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation
ORGANIZER: THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION
Dear Friends & Family:
Four years ago this June, my mom died of pancreatic cancer. It’s hard to believe it has already been that long. Since then, it is amazing how many people I have known, both friends and acquaintances, who have had somebody diagnosed and/or died of pancreatic cancer. Although some advances have been made, there is still no cure.
Four years ago, I did my first Ironman. It was dedicated to my mom, as initially she was going to come with us. I was able to raise over $8,000 for the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation in memory of her (my spunky and supportive mother).
Four years later, 4 years older and 4 years more out of shape, I am going to do the Boulder Ironman on August 3rd. Once again, I am going to raise money for the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. They do a wonderful job of supporting families not only with information, but for those who need it, financially. Please look at their website to learn more about this foundation: http://www.npcf.us/about-npcf/our-story.
I appreciate any donation you are willing to make to support my efforts and this great organization. Donations can be made directly by clicking the red donate button.
Finally, much of the ride is in the areas of the recent floods. The devastation is sad to see each time I ride through there. In an effort to support the rebuilding, I will personally contribute (yes, I mean my own money) five percent of all donations made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, to the flood recovery.
Thank you so much for taking your time to read this. Wish me luck!
