BENEFITING: St. Andew's Village
ORGANIZER: THE IRONMAN FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: May 17, 2014
I am competing in Ironman Texas on May 17th. For those of you who may not be familiar with an Ironman, it is a triathlon made up of a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride, and finishing with a marathon for a total of 140.6 miles. These races are regarded as the most challenging endurance events in the world.
I have joined with the Ironman Foundation and will use the race as an opportunity to raise money for St. Andew's Village.
Near Abita Springs, St. Andrew's Village is a faith-based, mixed-use Village community where adults with all degrees of developmental disabilities and non-disabled individuals can live, work, worship, and socialize throughout their lifelong journey. As a partnership between parents and community members to provide for adults with special needs, St. Andrew's Village will be the first community of its kind in the state of Louisiana.
Please watch the video to the left to learn more about the fantastic opportunities St. Andrew's Village will provide.
