The IRONMAN® Foundation's Your Journey, Your CauseTM program…
"Athletes have the opportunity to identify a non-profit beneficiary as part of their journey to become an IRONMAN and race for a cause. The IRONMAN Foundation has established a fundraising program that will provide athletes with all of the tools necessary to enable fundraising efforts while supporting the mission of their organization. Athletes can choose any non-profit organization as the beneficiary of their fundraising efforts."
Here is my scoop…
First, thanks for clicking on the link to check out my page. That’s pretty sweet! Raising money for a good cause through IRONMAN Foundation seems like it makes more sense than swimming 2.4 miles, biking 112, and running 26.2 just for the health of it…that doesn’t make sense. :)
Next, I have been blessed with some of the best people on the planet to call friends and family. In 2013, so many good people came together to raise over $4,000 in support of Special Olympics…too awesome! If you are a previous donor to that campaign I greatly appreciate your donation and hope you are considering donating once again. If you are a donating this year for the first time, thank you too!
Why Paralyzed Veterans of America –Wisconsin Chapter? Well, like most people, I wanted to choose a segment of the population that I have a bond or connection with. In 2013, it was easy for me to choose Special Olympics because I have so many friends who participate in Special Olympics and I could clearly see the joy that this played in their lives. This year, I looked for a reputable organization that helps out other Veterans. In doing some quick research on Wisconsin (I’d like to help others who live in the “Best State Ever”) nonprofits it was clear that this is definitely a well-run organization that is an advocate for Veterans. It also provides a number of healthy outlets for paralyzed veterans to participate in. Too cool! This organization is highly rated as well and a high percentage of money that is donated goes directly to helping Veterans. I suggest you check out their website at: www.wisconsinpva.org.
Again, thanks for checking this out!
