EVENT: YOUR JOURNEY, YOUR CAUSE
I will be competing in IRONMAN Wisconsin on September 13th, 2015. For those of you unfamiliar with an IRONMAN event, it is a triathlon consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride, and a 26.2 mile run. It is typically regarded as the most challenging endurance event in the world. Completing an IRONMAN event will be an unforgettable experience and will require months of preparation and training. With such a big personal commitment ahead, I have decided to make this IRONMAN journey more than just about me. I have partnered with The IRONMAN Foundation and set a goal to raise $1406 ($10 per mile of the race) for The Jennifer Ireland Foundation.
The Jennifer Ireland Foundation was founded to honor the life of Jennifer Ireland, a wife and mother who passed away from colon cancer in 2007. JIF's mission is to honor Jennifer's life and her courageous fight against cancer by providing financial grants to cancer patients and their families. As many of you know, I lost my mother to cancer in August 2013, so this is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. You can read more about this amazing foundation at http://www.jif4families.com/
Please partner with me by making a donation. You can sponsor a mile of my race for $10--or feel free to sponsor even more! All money raised will go to the foundation; I've already paid my race entry fee and travel expenses. I thank you in advance for your support and appreciate your generosity!
