26.2 Miles for DFW Pug Rescue
Jericho came into my life in 2008, approximately 10 years old, blind, diabetic, and with most of his teeth surgical removed due to gross neglect. I found him through the humane society. Unbelievably, I found him the same week he went into foster care. His foster mom told me that she had assumed that he would spend his last years with her as she figured no one would adopt him. I, however, was looking for just that kind of dog; the ones that families are not likely to take in. Truth be told I felt good that I was going to do something wonderful for this dog who had endured such a terrible life but that day Jericho changed my life forever…so I dedicate my first marathon this November in Tulsa OK to him and all the pugs out there who just want something yummy to eat and a nice belly rub.
Jericho was a sweet, regal old man. All he wanted was food, love, and to sleep in the “big boy bed.” For the 6 years that I shared my life with Jericho that was my only goal…make his final years as happy and healthy as possible. All I wanted was for him to forget the years before and live out his golden years in style.
Jericho left my life on April 9, 2014. He left my life forever changed but he will never leave my heart. This marathon journey is for him and pugs in need everywhere. I’ll do the 26.2 miles. Will you donate $26.2? Awww...and don't worry about those 2 dimes. Just make it $26. See? What a bargain! ;-)
