It doesn't qualify for financial aid?!
Organized by: Mary ANn Conover
After qualifying for financial aid I was crushed to find out that if I wanted to get a certificate in professional music my financial aid package of $12,100 would allow me do that. But it could not be used for the certificate that I wanted to attain. Wait!....before you judge, let me just say I love music, all kinds, from Billie Holiday to Ozzy and I also would love to play the guitar better than what can only be described as badly. Music is a tool for hope and healing, its just not my tool.
I finally have a clear vision of what I want to do with the rest of my life. The first step involves getting the Non-Profit Community Development Certificate at my local community college. While I could proceed without it, I believe it would benefit my future goal of helping the homeless feed and care for their animals tremendously. There are wonderful programs that qualify for financial aid, but I can't bring myself to take out loans to pursue them just because they qualify.
So here I am, asking for your help. I know I can make a difference in the world, but I need your help to do it. I have to pay for the 1st semester of the program cost on August 8th or I'm afraid my dream will be lost forever.
