BENEFITING: Cancer Research Institute, Inc.
As some of you already know, I'm posting updates on my running throughout this year to keep me engaged as I train for the Brooklyn Half and the New York City Marathon, and to encourage people in my life to donate to some worthy causes. While I was taping my episodes of Jeopardy!, Cindy Stowell's were airing. Cindy was the 6-day(!) Jeopardy! champion who passed away, from cancer, before her episodes aired. She knew when she was filming that she may not have much time left, and committed to donate her winnings to the Cancer Research Institute. It's not just Cindy who's inspiring this round of fundraising--it's the number of friends and family of mine whose lives have been touched by cancer, some very recently. Particularly with federal funding for scientific research in danger, it's a crucial time to donate to cancer research. Please consider a donation to the Cancer Research Institute to advance the work of funding research into conquering cancer through immunology. It's a great time to do it--all donations up to $200,000 will be matched through June 30, so I'll be running this particular fundraiser until then. And thank you.
