BENEFITING: Achilles International Inc.
EVENT DATE: Jun 29, 2014
This will be the fourth time that my son, Noah, (age 15) and I run in the annual Achilles Hope & Possibility 5 Mile Race in Central Park, which will be held on Sunday, June 29th, 2014, and again this year we run to support Achilles International.
Achilles International is an amazing organization; their mission is to enable people with all types of disabilities to participate in mainstream athletics, in order to promote personal achievement, enhance self-esteem, and lower barriers to living a fulfilling life. They do this in chapters all over the world, with able-bodied volunteers training side-by side with disabled athletes, including special teams for children and war veterans.
We can say firsthand that running with Achilles has made a huge impact in Noah's life, in his strength, posture and his gait, and also in his confidence, independence, focus and his ability to work toward his goals. Noah now trains year-round with Achilles and their volunteer guides and has participated in many events. Because of Achilles, Noah was inspired to set a goal of running his first half-marathon, which we completed in Central Park this past December.
Please help us support this great nonprofit organization and all the people it serves. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. We really appreciate your contributions!
Many, many thanks,
Michael (and Noah) Coopersmith
