BENEFITING: CAUSES FOR KIDS
IU Alumna Jill Stewart established IU Dance Marathon in 1991 after her friend Ryan White lost his battle with AIDS. For 22 years, the marathon has raised money for the Ryan White Infectious Disease Center at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, IN. Two years ago, IU Dance Marathon completed its original $10 million endowment, making the Infectious Disease Center financially self-sustaining. This year, we are continuing the funding for a new endowment specifically for infectious disease research through the Infectious Disease Center. This research will not only benefit residents of Indiana, but children all over the world.
The success of this event would not be possible without the donations of family and friends. Corporate sponsors cover the cost of hosting that marathon, which enables all money raised by the participants to directly benefit the children at Riley. Donations are crucial because Riley does not turn down any child regardless of financial need. This event truly makes a difference in the lives of so many children and families, and your support would be greatly appreciated. For the kids!
