Youth Development Funding
Organized by: Benjamin Walsh
The International Youth Association (IYA) is a nonprofit organization (having now acquired 501(c)(3) charity status) committed to providing development opportunities for youth around the world who want to better their communities.
We also seek to combat the traditional problem of NGOs: the fact that most NGO money doesn't leave the country of origin, the money given to NGOs often benefits the economy of the country for which the NGO belongs. The IYA, on the other hand, makes sure that every dollar given to projects benefits the country of the project. This means that the supplies, manpower, and other resources benefit the economy, not just the project. By doing this, the IYA changes the way NGOs do business and doubly helps the country in which each project takes place.
For example, we were able to help fund relief projects in the Philippines after the devastating typhoons that hit the country in 2013.
The money to do these projects, however, does not grow on trees (although we wish it did). It requires kindhearted donors and committed staff members. We're asking for your help to raise the necessary funds to support industrious and creative youth all over the world realize their dreams of a better, more modern, more educated, and more sustainable community.
