BENEFITING: Red Nose Day
EVENT DATE: May 26, 2016
Red Nose Day is on a mission to fight kids poverty and has raised over $1 billion globally in the last 25 years. Money raised helps to change the lives of children and young people in need through projects to keep them safe, healthy and educated. Half of the money will support programs right here in America. The other half will support programs in some of the poorest communities in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Every dollar helps! You probably hear that a lot, but what does it mean? These are some of the incredible ways your money will help kids in need.* In the U.S.: $1.00: A meal for a child living in a homeless shelter. $5.00: Medical supplies for a doctor’s visit at a mobile clinic. $7.00: Books, supplies and activities to help a child keep reading skills sharp during the summer. $35.00: An eye exam and glasses for a child in need. Internationally: $5.00: Antibiotics to treat a child with pneumonia. $4.00: An anti-malarial net to protect a mother and her baby. $50.00: Provides a baby with vaccinations for 6 diseases, nutritional supplements and check-ups.
