BENEFITING: 3 LITTLE BIRDS 4 LIFE
Hey there! My name is Jamie Elizabeth Marie Kuehner. I am 24 years old and proud to say I am a single parent of twin 2 year olds Rylinn (Rylie) Marie and Connor Lee Baker. During my pregnancy I discovered a lump on the side of my neck. I had such a difficult pregnancy that I "blew off" the lump and worried more about keeping myself healthy and protected for my children. I was on 4 months of bedrest and had Rylie and Connor at 34 weeks. After having 4 months of devotion to my precious newborns i noticed that the lump got bigger and another one developed. I called my primary doctor and had him check me out. He told me to get a CT scan. After reviewing the results in October of 2011, He advised me to meet with the ENT to preform a biopsy. My twin brother Timmy was marrying his wife Kayla on November 19 2011, I wanted to keep the focus on him so I didn't really discuss very much of it with my twin Timmy and my Four other brothers. In January 2012 the ENT doctor preformed a biopsy and on January 26 2012 I was officially told that I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma Stage 2. I was crushed. Luckily my children and my father were with me to comfort me. Later that day I broke the news to my mother and we cried as we held each other. I went through 4 cycles/ 8 treatments of ABVD chemotherapy clinical study. On June 15 2012 i had my last chemo dose and was able to ring the bell with my family cheering me on. On July 12 2012 they got back the results on the CT scan and PET scan. My body was cancer free! Since July 30th 2012- June 28th 2013 I went to school to get a diploma in Pharmacy Technician. During my mandatory externship at Mercy Hospital I made Doxirubicin/ Chemotherapy for a patient. It was amazing to be able to see how it was made. I received that drug in my chemo regimen. I am proud to say that i am still cancer free. However I do still go every 3months for my scans and for them top test my blood. My cancer still affects me to this day. Also my niece Alicia was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma (bone cancer). She had to have 1/3 of her femur removed and inplanted with a "growing prosthetic". She's gone through over 9 months of chemo and surgery. I am so thankful to have been healthy to help her cope with her cancer. We have a connection i could never explain. I love her so much and am so proud of her to be with her every step of the way. My wish is to meet Ellen Degeneres. or to have a shopping spree at the St. Louis Galleria. During my chemo my mother and i would watch her show and discuss it with my aunt Barb. I would love to be able to bring them with me to her show. I absolutley love her and consider her my role model. Thank you so much.
