BENEFITING: HOPKINTON CENTER FOR THE ARTS
EVENT DATE: Apr 18, 2016
I am excited and grateful to announce that I will be running the 2016 Boston Marathon in support of the Hopkinton Center for the Arts (HCA). I am proud to support the vision of the HCA as an inclusive community that fosters and celebrates the creative spirit in every individual. I have always dreamed of running a marathon, but never before had a clear path to do so. In early 2015, I joined the ‘Couch to 5K’ program with the Hopkinton Running club and I fell in love with running and never looked back. I have come to deeply value the beauty, clarity, fitness, and comradery of running. I am especially grateful for my neighbor, Lisa Brown, who is my wonderful running partner and marathon teammate for the HCA! As I look forward to achieving this dream, it seems fitting that I will run in honor of my first love, the arts. Theater was an integral part of my childhood, and I am extremely grateful for the positive influence provided by the arts throughout my life. The HCA is a nonprofit visual and performing arts center serving the Metrowest region. It is also a place to gather, celebrate, learn, reflect, and be moved. In 2015 the HCA expanded into a new facility that provides classes, exhibits, and a home for the Enter Stage Left theater company. I look forward to all that the HCA has to offer our community as well as my two young daughters as they explore what may inspire their own dreams. Thank you for taking the time to read about my journey. I appreciate any contribution you can make supporting both me and the vision of the HCA through this 2016 Boston Marathon fundraiser. Please feel free to learn more about the center at hopsartcenter.org.
