10 Days until 3rd Annual Maui Paddle for a Cure
September 21, 2016
I'm very excited to participate in my second Maui Paddle for a Cure coming up on October 1. Britten and I had an amazing day in 2015, but this year will be extra special as we get to have Sylvia and Arden with us!
The Maui Paddle for a Cure is a non-competitive event for stand-up, kayak and canoe paddlers and takes participants along the beautiful shoreline of Ka'anapali Beach in West Maui to raise funds for Susan G. Komen Hawaii. This year I opted for the 4-mile distance leaving Canoe Beach at Hanakao'o Park to the Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort and back. I'm not a strong paddler, but I think I look pretty cool in that pink rash guard.
I am incredibly blessed that both of my parents won their individual battles with cancer and I believe that in continuing to raise money and awareness and improve screening and treatment, we will ultimately find a cure.
100% of the registration fees and donations go to support Susan G. Komen Hawaii in their efforts for breast cancer education, awareness, prevention and treatment programs for women in the Hawaiian Islands. After raising over $36,000 in only their second year, the event has increased their goal to $50,000 in 2016.
Thank you for your donation in support of my paddle!
Mahalo for your kokua!
