The 2014-2015 Leadership Kaufman County class has committed to assisting Jake E’s Riding Round Up with arena improvements.
Jake E’s Riding Round Up is a Christian non-profit healing center offering P.E.A.C.E. – People thru Equines Achieving Courage & Empowerment – located in Kaufman, Texas. This therapeutic healing center focuses on improving the lives of individuals with a need to find peace. Today the non-profit offers services to a variety of clients including veterans and at-risk youth as well as elderly and special needs individuals.
Jake E’s offers therapeutic riding opportunities in a manner that challenges riders with disabilities to achieve their maximum potential and rewards their efforts. This approach emphasizes individual attention and motivation, and is staff and volunteer intensive. The goal is to help each rider achieve their maximum independence.
The purpose of this fundraiser is to provide an asphalt path from the barn area to the wheelchair mounting pad. Currently this area is unpaved with the ground surface consisting of sand, gravel and grass which prevents wheelchair bound participants from being able to attend therapy sessions after inclement weather.
The class members are seeking donations in the form of cash contributions. Kaufman County Leadership Council and Jake E’s Riding Round Up are both 501© 3 organizations making all donations tax exempt.
Working together we can achieve most anything. Thank you for your consideration and contribution to such a worthwhile project.
