BENEFITING: Partners In Health
EVENT DATE: Nov 27, 2014
I'm running the Atlanta Thanksgiving Half Marathon to raise money for Partners in Health! Right now PIH is working in Liberia and Sierra Leone to contain the spread of ebola and to help treat those with the disease. You don't like ebola do you? I thought not. Then donate! They also work to provide access to healthcare in Haiti, Rwanda and a number of other places. So you'd be helping there as well. Well done!
My other motivation for doing this is...revenge. Against all the people who have hit me up for money for worthy causes over the years. Now it's my turn.
But hang on (you might very well interject), this month countless friends, acquaintances and colleagues have asked me to donate to their fun runs/unicycle races/half-marathons/hot dog eating contests. I can't afford to give to them all! What am I, made of money?
Well that's a good point. If you can donate, please do. But if you can't afford to, or just can't be bothered, I almost definitely won't notice. Because I'm incredibly self-absorbed. But not so self-absorbed that I won't appreciate a donation were you to make one. Thank you!
