Jakie's Limping Leg
Organized by: Karen Raffensparger
My family has gotten to the point where we just laugh at life. What else can we do? I lost my job in 2012. My husbands hours were cut. My father started helping to feed us (he is 82 and on a fixed income). I lost my 13 year old dog, my 15 year old cat and my 18 year old cat in 2012 and 2013. I lost my sister to cancer in 2012. After she passed, I found out she had been embezzling my pay and I would never recover it (over $10,000 worth). Six windows in my house are broken, my roof leaks and as a result my bathroom wall is bulging, my husbands teeth are rotted and blackened, my teeth are all broken, my disabled daughters teeth are broken and my grandsons teeth are crooked and he is embarrassed by them. I broke my ankle in 2013 and it still aches. My house is falling apart, we can't eat, and our health is in decline (no insurance), but the most important problem of all is that my precious Jake, pictured above, is limping and nobody will help. I've called so many veterinarian's trying to find someone who will work with us and they all turn us down. My husband and I are beside ourselves watching this dog live with pain. We just need someone who can help us get him to the vet. We may need 200, we may need more, we don't know until we can get him x-rayed. I would be forever in debt to whomever would be kind enough to help us.
