BENEFITING: STUPID CANCER
Traveling the world as a way to affect change and help others has long been a dream of mine. Starting from October, 2013, I will realize this dream by traveling around the world in partnership with the organization Stupid Cancer.
Stupid Cancer is America's largest support group for young adults affected by cancer. Through award winning programs, events, and services, Stupid Cancer aims to empower cancer patients throughout the United States.
It is a group I greatly admire. They're fantastic. Really. Check 'em out at www.stupidcancer.org
My trip around the world will take me through multiple continents and dozens of countries. For each country I enter, I will be donating a dollar to Stupid Cancer. My friends and family will also be donating. Even if you can't afford a dollar per country, any amount helps and you'll have my thanks. Think of it like an international marathon fundraiser.
You can track the progress of my trip, and read about each country I travel through, at my website www.mongoliatothemoon.com.
In addition to the above fund raising, I am releasing a short downloadable e-book about the last three years I spent living and traveling throughout Asia. If you can't afford to donate to the Crowd Rise page, or just don't want to pay that much, this is a much cheaper option, and you get some light reading material for your commute as a bonus! It is available for any e-reader device or through the free Kindle app on your PC, Mac, smartphone or tablet. Proceeds from any sale of the e-book will also be added to the Stupid Cancer donation total. You can find the ebook @ http://stpdcn.cr/humidityandhumility and – if you're on the fence about it – you can find a sample section @ http://stpdcn.cr/handhsample.
Stupid Cancer's motto is “get busy living.” For me that will always mean traveling the world and searching for new places, people, and things to try. I truly hope that any part of this project, be it my writings or Stupid Cancer itself, inspire you to “get busy living”, as well. Thank you very much!
