BENEFITING: JOHN RITTER FOUNDATION FOR AORTIC HEALTH
On the morning of December 23, 2013 I was getting ready for work and waiting for my Dad to come watch my kids when the phone rang and changed my life forever.... My mom was on the phone. She called to tell me my Dad was being sent to the ER with chest pain. My first thought was "Oh no, it's 2 days before Christmas and my dad is havig a heart attack". I wish I was right.... When he arrived to the ER he was diagnosed with a Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm Dissection. As a RN I knew the urgency of this situation. He was transferred to a tertiary care center where specialist worked very hard on him. However, despite all of their heroic efforts my Dad (Cubby as he was known to so many) passed away. Our lives were forever changed in this one day. My dad was a healthy 56 year old who was in good health, saw his doctor for regular check ups and had no idea he had a Thoracic Aneurysm. With the information I gained from the John Ritter Foundation, my sisters and I have been screened and do not have any signs of an aneurysm. Please consider donating to my efforts to make my Dad, Team Ritter and so many more proud in November. The John Ritter Foundations purpose to promote Thoracic Aortic Health,BAwareness and Research.
