Janet & Don Longo via Crowdrise
September 10, 2012
BENEFITING: ROLLSTONE FOUNDATION INC
EVENT DATE: Nov 04, 2012
Janet Longo is running her 6th New York Marathon and is running this time for the Rollstone Foundation, which is a non-profit organization with a mission of assisting in the adoption of special needs children worldwide, with a special focus on children who are HIV positive.
Janet is running as "Shane's Grammie" and is dedicated to helping these orphaned children in part to show thanks for her healthy grandson, 20-month-old Shane.
Costs for adopting these Special-Needs children, who often have no other hope of life, can be prohibitive. Rollstone eases the financial burden of qualified families within the United States who are willing to give of themselves to offer these children a loving home and a chance at life.
The Rollstone Foundation was founded in 2007 by Michael D. Dawidziak and his wife, Pamela Greene in an effort to help defray some of the amazingly high costs associated with adopting a special-needs child. These costs are even higher when the child lives in a Third World country.
Although HIV is often a chronically controlled disease in the United States, children with the disease in other parts of the world are living under a certain sentence of death. By helping qualified individuals afford the adoption process, the Rollstone Foundation is quite simply saving the life of each of these children and giving them the promise of a future of happiness and hope. Does any child deserve less?
By making your tax-deductible donation you can support Janet in her "Run for Rollstone" and help Rollstone Foundation to roll away the stone that keeps these children trapped in a life of illness and suffering until they die at too early an age. This is one thing you can do in your life that you know will truly make a difference. You can quite literally help to provide a child with a life they did not know existed.
While we will be grateful for all donations, large and small, we are hoping that each person will be able to donate at least $25.00. Think of it...for less than a dollar a day for only one month, you can help Rollstone save the life of one of these special children by funding the cost of adoption into a loving family.
With your support Rollstone can continue to provide hope and life for these special needs children....one child at a time. Checks should be made payable to "THE ROLLSTONE FOUNDATION" and mailed to Don Longo at Clifford Trotter Associates, 258 Hawkins Avenue - Suite I, Ronkonkoma, New York 11779. The Rollstone Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization. Please include your e-mail address or your mailing address so that we may send you a receipt for your donation with our thanks.
If you prefer to make your donation by credit card.....

- Don Longo
In another display of the quiet kind of community support for which the Steinbrenners are known, Hank Steinbrenner has stepped up to the plate to support Janet Longo in her “Run for Rollstone” fundraising effort in the upcoming New York Marathon. Through the efforts of Long Island resident Anthony Farino, the New York Yankees co-chairman has donated to the Rollstone Foundation a mounted baseball signed by Hall of Fame catcher Yogi Berra that until now has been on display in the Yankees museum in Tampa, Florida. Mr. Steinbrenner had the museum piece removed and delivered to Rollstone by Mr. Farino in the hope that it will bring a substantial winning bid at an auction to be held for Mrs. Longo’s charity in the near future.
