BENEFITING: NYRR Youth Programs
EVENT DATE: May 08, 2011
As most of you know, my brother Jim and his wife Junko live outside Tokyo and have lived in Japan for apx 20 years. I forget how far away he is sometimes, but when the earthquake and Tsumani hit Japan in March, our lives shook as well. Luckily he is safe and sound but his world (and community) was rocked.
There is not much my family can do living so far away, but I can help raise money for the Red Cross and run in honor of my brother. The 4 mile run is this Sunday - Mother's day and I am asking for any donation amount you can spare. if you are not in the position to give, that's ok. But if you can spare $5.00, $10.00 or more if possible, please donate on my page.
The Japan Run has been declared a "Run for Hope.” will support recovery efforts and solidarity with the Japanese people. The New York Road Runners will match up to $25,000 in donations so please show your support.
Thank you and namaste!
