Jaritza's Medical Mission to Uganda
Organized by: Jaritza Smith
There is so, so much I could say about this medical mission trip I would not know where to begin. My friend and parish priest, Fr. Remi SSekiranda, has a mission in his home country of Uganda. And Father doesn't think small, he thinks and dreams big. Very big. Here are just a few of his goals:
+To provide education and opportunities to teenagers and young adults so that they can contribute to their local community and its micro-economy.
+To support these individuals in their local communities as they develop their skills and businesses that will see them step out of poverty.
+And the final target is self-sufficiency for these individuals.
This is no small undertaking: I will be in Uganda for two weeks after flying some 8,000 miles. Not a typo: 8,000 miles! This trip will incur many expenses of which I will gladly pay and am blessed to be able to do so. My hope with this page is to raise additional funds to purchase prescription medications and other medical supplies to help stock their clinic.
"Do something for those who can't when you can".
