I started serving in Haiti in 2012. Since then, I have been back to Haiti almost 20 times serving in varying capacities. The last few years it has focused on Medical Missions and surgical trips. I am also an Ultra Runner, having completed many 100 mile and 50 mile trail races in the United States. Ever since the first time I was able to go out and run in the mountains of Haiti a few years ago, a dream of mine has been to run across Haiti and use my running to make a difference somehow in Haiti. I have spent many hours and years thinking about how to make this happen. Then in 2016, I was on a surgical trip, and when we were driving back to Part-Au-Prince to fly back home, I saw these people running up the mountains. Right away I knew it was a "Run for a reason" type of run. I was able to figure out it was Team Tassy. The minute I figured out who they were and why they were running across Haiti, I knew I had to be part of it. So here I am, ready to run across Haiti. Time to use my running to make a difference in Haiti, and fulfill a dream of mine in the process.
