BENEFITING: PETER C ALDERMAN FOUNDATION INC
EVENT DATE: Sep 17, 2017
I can’t believe that it has been almost 16 years since 9/11. I think back to that day and being halfway around the world in Thailand, not being able to reach my family and wondering if they were ok. Unlike many others, I was lucky and my family was safe. Unfortunately, my childhood friend Peter Alderman, was there on that horrible day and was not so lucky. On that devastating day, part of me felt very relieved not to be in the city, dealing with this awful tragedy, but part of me, the New Yorker in me, was frustrated and angry, not being able to be here, to stand with my city and be there for friends and family.
So much has changed in my life since that time. Being the father of two unbelievable daughters has given me a drastically different perspective on life and the thought of dealing with the loss of a child is an unimaginable nightmare. What the Alderman’s have done in the wake of losing a child is nothing less than incredible. In fact, CNN did a story last year on the 15th anniversary of 9/11, profiling the Alderman’s and their work.
Please help me honor Peter’s memory and consider supporting me in a charity walk for the Peter C. Alderman Foundation. Even a small donation can help change someone’s life. Thank you.
