On 8/10/13, Chase and Carsyn will help raise money to spread a little peace in the world. This international charity is located just a few blocks from our home and we want to help them reach their goals. Learn more at www.plantingpeace.org.
We also want our children to learn the value of helping others. We are participating as one of over 100 lemonade stands all throughout the world on Saturday. (The girl who started this raised $23K!!!)
If our friends and family will each toss in a 5'er, 10'er, or a big fat $20. (And some of you could probably even afford a benjamin!), we will easily surpass our goal of $200.
The money goes to the charity's anti-bullying programs, orphanages, deworming initiatives ($1 provides medication to 67 kids!), reforestation, and generally sending out a "peaceful" vibe. (Their mission statement is one word ... "peace".)

On June 14, 2013, Jayden, a 5 1/2 year old girl, set up a lemonade stand on the front lawn of the Equality House. Little did she know how huge of a national success it would become. Jayden was even honored as one of MSNBC's Footsoldiers! Since that day, she has raised over $22,000 for Planting Peace. Jayden saw how powerful philanthropy can be, so she decided to come back for a second lemonade stand! Only this time, she wants to invite you and your kids to get involved too! On August 10th, we invite children all over the country to set up their own lemonade stands in their own neighborhoods to join Jayden in her movement for peace. To get your child involved, simply select "fundraise for this campaign" to register your stand, and tell your friends! At the end of the day, you can use your fundraiser to submit the funds you raised! Happy lemonade selling! Peace to all :)
