BENEFITING: Foundation for Women's Cancer
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
In February of 2015 I was diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer during a routine procedure, 2 days later I had a scan which ended up revealing early stage Ovarian Cancer. I was completely shocked. When I recovered from being blindsided, I did the best I could to think positively and survive my situation. With the help of my family, great doctors, friends, and my belief system, I'm enjoying my life. I feel like the luckiest unlucky person! I had gone to Duke to met my Oncologist a year prior, believing that someday I may need some help. My intuition was correct, a year later the unthinkable happened.
Today, I'd like to give back and support other cancer patients through this process. Not everyone has the support I have. Not everyone has the intuition that I do. I hope to help educate other patients about early detection and serve as a messenger that they can survive and thrive too!
