BENEFITING: Joslin Diabetes Center
ORGANIZER: Joslin Diabetes Center
EVENT: Boston Marathon 2014
EVENT DATE: Apr 21, 2014
I couldn't be more thrilled about running the 2014 Boston Marathon on behalf of the Joslin Diabetes Center! I am also proud to run in honor of my dad.
My dad has been living with type-2 diabetes since 1995. Although his original diagnosis was scary for our family, nearly twenty years later he’s still the fittest old man I know thanks mainly to the care he’s received from the Harvard Medical School community and the advances in treatment that Joslin has researched. I am very grateful to Joslin and am happy to run on its behalf.
Joslin Diabetes Center — an independent nonprofit affiliated with Harvard Medical School — is the world’s largest diabetes research and clinical care organization. Diabetes is the fastest-growing disease in the United States, one of the leading causes of death, and a disease for which there is no known cure. Joslin's mission is to conduct research toward preventing and curing diabetes while ensuring that everyone with diabetes can continue to live healthy and active lives.
Every new donation will help Joslin treat patients and research new forms of treatment. Please help support Joslin by contributing any amount that you can.
Thank you so much for your generosity!
