MEDTRONIC TWIN CITIES MARATHON
October 7, 2012
I will be running the Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon and looking for sponsors. My goal is to raise $500 by September 15th. Can you help me by pledging your support for JDRF?
So you understand a little about Juvenile Diabetes (T!D), here is a note from Jenny Weinholzer who has been running marathons for the past 5 years.
When I saw that JDRF has a charity team in the Medtronic Marathon, I knew I had to be a part of it. My dad was 16 years old when he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Shortly after his 30th birthday, after years of dialysis and the pain of what this disease did to him, he passed away. The hardship of T1D did not end there for my family, as my younger sister, who was only 1 year old when our dad passed away, was diagnosed with T1D. She is now 23 years old and battles this disease every day of her life. Our family has learned how to cope with diabetes, and we have great hope that the cure will be found. Until then, we are doing everything we can to support JDRF, the world’s largest non-governmental funder of diabetes research.
