We are raising money in the name of PFC David "Doc" Jefferson. A family friend who was killed in Afghanistan while serving with the 502nd "Blackhearts" in the 101st Airborne. We pay tribute to him every day with every mile we run, and every dollar raised. We are Jefferson's Harriers.
We are members of The Menomonie High School Cross Country team. Led by me, Shane Miller. I am leaving for Boot Camp February 11th 2013, and because of that we will be fundraising over the course of January instead. I am a Ranger hopeful and will be attending RASP this summer. The rest of the team came when called upon, because they wanted to help out this cause. They will be with me every step of the way, and couldnt do this without them.
In 2012, 3rd Ranger Battalion veteran US Army Corporal Cory Smith, having deployed to combat twice, experienced having friends killed and wounded and with his own marriage failing decided to highlight the difficult journey home many soldiers have leaving the Army by undergoing a very public and very difficult journey home himself. Cory decided to run 565 miles in 28 days with holding his daughter Elleigh in his arms the end goal of his run.
