EVENT DATE: Nov 03, 2013
Athletics is my life and my passion. Challenging myself physically and mentally – whether on the track, in the ocean, or on the bike – is where I feel most comfortable and what I look forward to every day of my life.
I was heavily influenced by my father, a teacher and veteran lifeguard. An avid marathon runner, rower and all-around athlete, the pursuit of excellence is something I learned at a very young age, sitting by his side on the lifeguard bench summers in Bradley Beach, NJ.
I began running when I was about 13, and quickly caught the fever so many runners never shake. Since then, I’ve competed in more than 100 races. I’ve run 15 marathons. I run for the thrill and challenge of competition but I also run for myself. I run to push my body and mind beyond the limits of what even I think is possible.
And this year, I will run the NYC marathon – a lifelong dream of any runner – for a very good friend and fellow Bradley Beach lifeguard, Bill Nunnaly, Jr. Bill passed away after his battle with brain cancer two years ago. Any help you could give me in helping me achieve my fundraising goal would be greatly appreciated!
