SLAMT1D is a nonprofit organization committed to helping those affected by Type 1 diabetes (T1D) to live life in full. The goal is to empower, educate and connect through backyard team sports played with a big time vibe. Check out their website, SlamT1D.org for inspiring videos and a glimpse of the tournament.
The primary focus of the organization is to raise funds to send T1Ders to diabetes education camps. Living with T1D is a constant challenge. People with the disease must carefully balance insulin doses (either by injections multiple times a day or continuous infusion through a pump) with eating and daily activities throughout the day and night. Currently there is no cure for T1D, but until there is one...we're going to play some WIFFLE Ball.
So here's the deal: We need your help to support these campers.
The Vermont Summer Classic wiffle ball tournament is on June 24 & 25th. This is my 3rd year participating, but this tournament has been around for 6 years. Last year, our team raised over $10,000 to support type one diabetes children. (We were the number two fundraiser) We have a fleet of amazing people participating: wiffle ball players, cheerleading squad, supporting friends, spouses and coworkers. This year, my individual goal is to raise $300 towards T1D and our team goal is $15,000!
