BENEFITING: The Pittsburgh Promise
EVENT DATE: Aug 07, 2015
Thanks for visiting my donation page. I appreciate your interest in helping me to raise money for a great charity, The Pittsburgh Promise. The mission of The Pittsburgh Promise is to make sure that any student in a Pittsburgh inner city school, who successfully obtains a high school degree, has the financial support to go on to college.
I would never ask for a donation without putting some effort into the task myself. As many of you know, I run some crazy races but this one just may be a bit over the top. This time I am attempting the Bigfoot 200 miler. Bigfoot 200 is a pretty rugged trail race through the Cascade Mountains in Washington State. It is a continuous race with very limited support. My plan is to start Friday morning 8/7 and finish sometime before the 109 hour official cutoff time. (Or have my crew drag the remains off the mountain.) It will be an adventure and a challenge.
The Pittsburgh Promise is really a great organization but if that is not enough to justify your donation, you can also consider it as a way of encouraging me to inflict great bodily pain upon myself. Whether you have a kind heart for these kids or you just like the sadistic nature of encouraging me to inflict pain upon myself doesn’t matter to me, your contribution is appreciated either way.
