Jefrey G and the Recovery
Organized by: Jayson Hamilton
On July 19th Jefrey suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. He remained in the ICU for 14 day as the health care staff controlled and assessed the brain bleeding. The left side of his brain and thalamus were the areas affected by the stroke and thankfully the brain bleeding stopped without surgery. Doctors were not sure if he would be able to talk due to the affected areas of his brain, but on July 30th, right after the extraction of his breathing tube Jefrey said his first words "I love you too. " as his son, Jackson, hugged him goodnight before leaving the hospital. From that day Jefrey has been on the road of recovery. Like any recovery there are ups and downs. Currently, Jefrey is in a specialized nursing care rehab center where he receives speech therapy, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. His left side is getting stronger, his wit is still there, and he is really working on moving his right side. So far there has not been much movement on his right extremities. This page is here to help ease some medical bill payments so Jefrey can focus on recovering. Updates on his therapy and recovery will also be posted here. Jefrey appreciates all the prayers, encouragement, visits, and love people have shown him and his family since July 19th.
