Jenna and Tamara are running the New York City Half Marathon in support of maternal health around the world.
As you may know, we have been training to run in the New York City Half Marathon on March 17. For the past two months, we have been logging our training miles to benefit the charity “Every Mother Counts” and wanted to dedicate our race to this great cause.
Every Mother Counts is a campaign to end preventable deaths caused by pregnancy and childbirth around the world. Hundreds of thousands of women die during pregnancy and childbirth each year. That's 800 women every day. The good news is that 90% of these deaths can be prevented. We hope to not only increase awareness for this cause but to also make the vital connection for people that so many pregnant women live far from health services around the world and that distance does make a difference. Simply put, we run so that others don't have to.
For those of you who are in New York on March 17 (St. Patrick’s Day!), we would love to see your smiling faces along the course. Thank you for your support!
