BENEFITING: SUSAN G. KOMEN MASSACHUSETTS
EVENT DATE: Sep 27, 2015
We on team Hakuna Ma Tatas are racing in the memory of Cathy Murphy. My name is Jenna O'Brien and I am the team leader and Cathy was my mother. She was diagnosed in 1998 with breast cancer when I was only 7 years old. She was a nurse at childrens hospital in boston and worked with sick children everyday especially children with cancer. She loved her job and truly cared for others and helping them. Her cancer returned in 2006 and took her life but she never gave up hope. I have always wanted to race for my mother but was never physically able to. After losing over 100lbs I am now ready to race in her memory. Will you please donate to help for the cause and the memory of a person who touched so many!
The Komen Massachusetts Race for the Cure celebrates its 23rd anniversary in 2015! Through funds raised by our Race participants, Komen Massachusetts has contributed to funding more than $68 million in breast cancer research, local education, screening and treatment. Every dollar raised by Race for the Cure makes a lasting impact in the fight against breast cancer.
Did you know that Massachusetts has the second highest incidence of breast cancer in the U.S. with over 5,000 Massachusetts women diagnosed annually? Komen Massachusetts needs YOU as a part of our crusade to end breast cancer forever. Your fundraising efforts will help save the lives of Massachusetts women.
More treatment. More research. More survivors. A cure.
