BENEFITING: FRIENDS OF THE ISRAEL DEFENSE FORCES
Jenna loves to hang out and relax with her friends. This type of emotional well-being is also essential to our brave Israeli soldiers-in training, providing meaningful and valuable time to relax with one another in a comfortable recreational space on base.
As a bat mitzvah project, Jenna is raising funds towards a Friends of the Israeli Defense Forces (FIDF) initiative to build 14 outdoor leisure corners, to be established in training compounds of the Golani Brigade of the IDF. Golani soldiers undergo highly specialized and advanced training and these leisure spaces will enhance the soldiers’ morale and team spirit while in training. Team building is such an important factor in a warrior’s capability, and the Golani brigade is renowned for their strong patriotism, unit pride, strong ties and camaraderie, and for being extremely tough.
The first Golani soldiers came from agricultural settlements in the Galilee, and the brown beret affirms the bond with the land, symbolized by the olive tree, Israel’s indigenous tree. How consistent with the fact that Jenna’s Bat Mitzvah day is also Earth Day!
