BENEFITING: Pulmonary Hypertension Association Inc
EVENT DATE: Oct 01, 2017
Jenna was a healthy child. She enjoyed playing soccer, hanging out with friends and family, and was always ready for the next adventure. At 17 she began to notice changes in her breathing. Often just walking through the house would leave her gasping for air. After multiple trips to the doctors and numerous work ups, she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension. Pulmonary Hypertension is a rare lung disease, affecting fewer than 200,000 people in the US. The disease causes increased pressures in the arteries of the lungs, in turn, affecting the function of the heart, making it nearly impossible to breathe, even while at rest. At the age of 19, she was told she had 3-4 months to live. Determined and optimistic, she refused to give in to the grim diagnosis. With the help of Dr. Palvesky and Chris Archer-Chicko NP, Jenna continued to fight this awful disease. Sadly, Feb 28, 2017 Jenna lost her battle to PH. Her infectious personality, smile, laugh and her love for life is missed every minute of everyday. We've always walked with Jenna in her fight with PH now, we will walk for her. Now as she gained her angel wings our dearest Jenna can now and forever breathe easy.
