"Rwand-er what we’re up to?! Along with 52 other students from Virginia Tech and John’s Hopkins University, I am focusing on creating sustainable social change, specifically with the NGO’s that we are partnering with in Ethiopia and Rwanda.
In the rural village of Gatagara, Rwanda, Kid's Play International (KPI) provides a safe place for girls and boys to participate in educational sports activities after school with one another. KPI aims to shift attitudes and beliefs about gender roles through the multitude of sports and games offered to both boys and girls. In order to continue developing and improving their program, KPI needs your help. We are fundraising to contribute funds for a new sports field and field house. These greatly needed improvements will provide a safe space for KPI kids to participate in the program. Click here for more information about KPI's Safe Space Initiative.
In October our fundraising efforts will culminate in a 5k and 10k run through the streets of Lugano. Any amount that you can give will go a long way in supporting KPI and will be greatly appreciated by the fantastic children and staff of the program.
